NLB verliert knapp

Spiel 1

Nach dem erfolgreichen Saisonstart am 17.4.2010. Trafen die Hunters auf die Barracudas aus Zürich, welche schon ab dem 1. Inning gute Hits auf Pitcher Wyss erzielten. Die Hunters ihrerseits konnten bis zum 5. Inning keinen einzigen Hit verbuchen. Und der Pitcher der Barracudas hatte eine sehr gute Kontrolle und ein Varianten reiches Pitching was den Jägern offensichtlich zu schaffen machte. Erst am Anfang des 6. Innings erwachten die Hunters und konnten durch ein paar schöne hits und cleveres Baserunning 3 Runs verbuchen. Mehr lies die sehr gut eingestellte Defense der Barracudas nicht zu und sie gewannen verdient mit 10 zu 3 gegen die Thuner. Vor allem beim schlagen war irgendwie der Wurm drin, die Hunters schlugen viele Linedrives und Flyballs, welche aber direkt auf die gegnerischen Feldspieler flogen und diese keine Mühe hatten diese Bälle zu fangen. Ebenfalls groundballs wurden zu einer leichten Beute, und bis zum 6.Inning hatte noch kein Spieler der Hunters das 1. Base von nahem gesehen. Simon Wyss lieferte auf dem Mound eine Tadellose Leistung ab, jedoch reichte diese nicht, weil unsere Bats so lange schwiegen. Die Barracudas nutzten jeden Fehler der Hunters aus und deshalb war ihr Sieg nie in Gefahr.

 

Spiel 2

Dominic Geinoz begann auf dem Mound und machte seine Sache gut. Trotz einiger Schwierigkeiten gab er in 3 Innings nur 2 Runs ab. Dies war vor allem der Defense zu verdanken, welche kaum noch Fehler machte. Anfangs 4. Inning hatte Geinoz nach einer Schwächephase genug und überlies Wyss der weiterhin sehr gut pitchte. Auch in der Offense schien es besser zu klappen und die Hunters führten bis ende des 5. Innings mit 4 zu 2, als die Cudas einen weiteren Fehler der Defense gnadenlos ausnutzte und mit danach mit einem Run führte. Die letzte Chance der Hunters das Spiel doch noch zu ihren Gunsten zu entscheiden war gekommen und die Hunters gaben nie auf und Christian Isenschmied hätte um ein Haar den Tie Run nach Hause gebracht, aber die Barracudas zeigten Nervenstärke und der Centerfielder warf Isenschmied mit einem schönen one hopper aus 70 m Entfernung auf Home Out. Die Barracudas liessen sich auch den zweiten Sieg nicht mehr nehmen und gewannen auch diesen verdient.

 

 

Ein herber Rückschlag? Nein im Gegenteil die Hunters waren nah dran vor allem im 2. Spiel und sie konnten sich gegen ein Team behaupten welches in den letzten Jahren regelmässig Schweizermeister in der NLB wurden. Besonders Luis Garcia und Christian Isenschmied verdienen ein grosses Lob. Luis spielte 2 tolle Spiele und machte etliche Fly Outs im Leftfield, ebenfalls an der Platte zeigte er keine Angst und machte seine Sache gut. Christian zeigte gleich was er kann und schlug bei seinem 1. At bat in der NLB auf den 1. Pitch einen wunderschönen Single über die 2. Base ins Outfield.

Ebenfalls Erwähnung verdienen Romy und Robi Zumbrunn welche mit viel Engagement und Freude den Grillstand betrieben.

Ich bin weiter zuversichtlich und die Hunters haben ihr Potenzial noch nicht voll ausgeschöpft und sind motiviert ihre Skills im Training zu verbessern.

    Download speeds here in Corfe Castle are also inconsistent (2mb to 6mb). Upload seems fine at the moment (16:50), but they were fluctuating yesterday.Regarding BT engineers, there are Openreach vans all over the place, hopefully they are trying to fix the underlying problem.
